Football Index Dividends explained

Dividends are daily payouts that you can receive on your Football Index bets. Goalscorers, playmakers, media magnets, assist kings, clean sheet keepers – they’re all in line for daily bonuses. There’s more than one way to win, however, which means Traders can adjust their strategy accordingly. This is Football Index Dividends explained.

There are four types of Dividends
with Football Index:

We evaluate player performance through our Opta-powered scoring algorithm and allocate them points. The players with the most points for their respective position come top of our Match Day Rankings, and win Dividends for that day.

Gold, Silver and Bronze Match Days

Payouts depend on the prestige and number of games taking place on Match Days, which are organised into Gold, Silver and Bronze. Have a look at the Dividend table below:

Eligible Competitions

Our Traders understand the market, and they understand football. They have a deep and diverse knowledge of the game across the continent and on the international scene. Points scoring

On any day where there is a fixture in any of the eligible competitions, we rank all the participating footballers according to our Match Day scoring table.

Positional tiering

Footballer positions are classified using Opta season data and will not update in game if a player moves position or plays out of position during a match.

Deadlines

Traders have to purchase Shares before 16:00* to be eligible to win Match Day Dividends on that day.

We pay out Dividends to the players at the top of the Match Day Rankings between 09:00am and 11:00am the following morning.

*All times mentioned are London times.

1.25 Multiplier

Playing in Champions League and Europa League matches will multiply player scores by 1.25 for games in those tournaments.

Tiebreak

In the event that two footballers score equal points totals on a Match Day, the youngest player will win the Dividends.

Who's in your
Team of the Month?

At the end of each month, Dividends will be paid out on the top three forwards, top four midfielders, top three defenders and the top goalkeeper.

The ranking of players is based on an aggregated score from all eligible matches.

You can find the leaderboard for Team of the Month Dividends here.

Example Team of the Month

Footballers are ranked according to the total of their top three Match Days scores in a given calendar month. For example, if Lionel Messi played four games in a month, scoring 250, 250, 250 and 150, he would score 750 points. If he had only played two games with scores of 250 and 150, his score would be 400 points. In the event of any tie, the younger player will be ranked higher.

Eligible Competitions

Team of the Month Dividends will only be payable if there are a minimum of five Match Days completed in that calendar month.

In the case of a major international tournament, we may offer a similar “Team of the Tournament” Dividend on a promotional basis applied to the whole tournament, rather than per calendar month. We reserve the right to amend this Dividend in or around the 2022 World Cup, and this may impact adjacent months. We will announce any changes within 30 days of relevant club fixtures being announced for the 2022-23 season.

Football Index
Media Dividends

In the modern game, there’s almost as much interest in what a player does off the field as what he does on it. That’s why Media Dividends are such a crucial consideration for Traders on the Football Index.

Our proprietary daily monitor of all UK online football news drives a daily score published in list form.

Footballers with mentions get points - and the players with the highest points totals get into the Media Rankings. On non-Match Days, the top three win Dividends, while the top one wins on days where games are played.

Media Rankings are based on Media Score each day at 00:00:00.

We take news headlines from 20 trusted media sources and scan them for player names.

The news feeds we monitor are:
Talksport, UEFA, The FA, ESPN, FIFA, Football League, Daily Mail, Daily Star, The Times, Telegraph, Independent, Express, Guardian, Metro, Daily Mirror, BBC, Football365, Goal.com, Huffington Post and Sky Sports.

On eligible match days, there’s one Media Dividend winner.

Deadlines

Football Index pays out Media Dividends  on Shares bought before a daily deadline of 16:00. Winnings are paid out between 09:00am and 11:00am on the day after the Media Dividends were won. To win, you’ll need to hold the footballer until you’ve been credited with your Media Dividends.

Media Winner

The footballer with the highest score each day by 23:59:59pm wins Media Dividends on that day.

Tiebreak

If there’s a points tie, the player with the latest unique story will be ranked higher. We reserve the right to remove stories attributed to a footballer that are not related to footballing events or that refer to another similarly named but incorrect person.
